Carbon Cultivate by Cope
At Cope we have a steadfast commitment to long-term partnerships with breeders, growers and producers, cultivating resilient and sustainable markets and variety prospects, as well as dedicating resources to research and development.
We combine heritage with innovation, laying the groundwork for sustainable food and farming legacy
We believe in Regenerative farming practices and aim to support our growers to transition to sustainable farming methods wherever possible. We have partnered with Soil Capital to create Cultivate Carbon by Copes to reward farmers for making these changes & using Carbon In Setting to monetise good practice.
By engaging in carbon insetting, companies are investing in making their own products, practices and supply chains more sustainable. This means the investment can be in areas specific to a company’s precise needs, such as our buyers relying heavily on arable crops which help support regenerative practices to build soil carbon and enhance biodiversity, improving ecosystems.
Regenerate Your Soil, Build
Carbon, Earn Money…
Are you transitioning to regenerative farming practices? If you are incorporating the following practices, we can help you to monetise this through Carbon Cultivate by Cope:
- Replacing synthetic inputs with organic/biological inputs
- Minimising soil disturbance
- Maximising soil cover with plants
- Diversifying the rotation
- Diverse herbal leys
- Integration of livestock
- Agroforestry
Decarbonisation through the Supply Chain
Reducing emissions and increasing carbon sequestration into the soil through regenerative practices can generate carbon certificates through our Carbon Cultivate programme. These certificate can then be sold within the agricultural supply chain to supplement income from growing your crops sustainably.
Be rewarded for “cultivating carbon”! Buyers invest in their supply chains to work towards net-zero and we help foster partnerships between our growers and buyers.
Why our System is Different
Carbon Insetting is more ethical than Carbon Offsets, which we do not support. Carbon Insetting supports emission reductions within an organisation’s own supply chain. This leads to real carbon savings that reduce an organisation’s carbon footprint, rather than “neutralising” emissions for the purposes of carbon accounting.
How Does it Work?
How Are You Rewarded?
For every 1 Tonne of CO2 that is sequestered 1 Carbon certificate is earned. Since the start of the program, the average value of certificates per hectare per year for farmers has been increasing.
2023 – £28.56 per certificate
2024 – £33.05 per certificate
