Spring Barley

ARMADA

ARMADA provides a combination of yield, disease resistance and straw length. Important diseases to consider with Spring Barley are Rhynchosporium and Mildew. The highest resistance score of any variety against Rhynco is 8 with most hovering around the 4’s and 5’s. ARMADA has the best resistance available with a rating of 8. It also scores a 9 for resistance to Mildew.

ARMADA has the tallest straw available with a rating of 8 for standing Power and Brackling resistance.

For a lot of Spring Barley growers, straw yield is an important factor and ARMADA gives that added value. In TAG organic trials conducted in Cornwall the straw length was 2nd only to Dandy wit han outstanding 16% higher grain yield than Dandy. Excellent grain samples with high bushel weight and low screening losses help further compliment ARMADAs other outstanding attributes.
